Hi my name is Matthew Silk. Since 2001 I have had the pleasure of training hundreds of people of all fitness levels, ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. The fun part about my job is people come to me with many different goals. Whether your goal is related to:

  • Changing your body composition (ie, Increase lean muscle / Decrease body fat)
  • strengthening your core
  • increasing your fitness
  • getting ready for your wedding day or any other life events
  • maybe work/career related needing to improve your fitness/strength to get a job or make your job easier to do
  • aiming to run a fun run for a first time or a marathon
  • successfully completing the Oxfam 100km walk/run or other endurance/adventure events

Or whatever else your goal may be. I will map out a plan of attack to achieve your goals around many different types of obstacles that can pop up in your life.

Fitness has been a part of my life since I can remember. I love all sports, and since my early years, I have played soccer, tennis and golf. During high school I competed in school and interschool cross country running. Recently I have rediscovered my love for running and I am enjoying running fun runs.

I first joined a gym in 1995, and ever since fitness/weight training has been a part of my life. Back in 1999, I was personally trained for the first time and little did I know at the time the impact those sessions would have on the future direction of my life. In late 2000 I enrolled in a year long course at Box Hill Tafe. By the end of 2001 I was employed at a fantastic gym in the outer east of Melbourne where I worked as a gym instructor, personal trainer and instructed group fitness classes.

In November 2009 Elevate your Life – Boot Camps, Boxing and Personal Training was born. Not everyone wants to join a gym, or commit to long term contracts but they still want to exercise. Through my business I have had the pleasure of helping many people since November 2009 achieve their goals outside of the traditional gym environment. Starting out with Mobile Personal Training and Boot Camp sessions, my business has now grown to include Thump Boxing for Fitness Sessions, Metafit sessions, Lifestyle challenges, a Running group and the opening of my own studio where Personal Training and Small Group Training sessions are run.
